After breakfast, visit a local reindeer farm where you will spend time getting to know these beautiful animals and at the same time you can learn and feed them while listening to the incredible stories told to you. Next, proceed to a Lappish evening in the Wilderness with Dinner.
After breakfast, enjoy a sightseeing tour to Ranua Wildlife Park. Here, you can observe arctic animals throughout the year at is said to be one of Lapland's leading destination for families. Located approximately one hour drive from Rovaniemi, Ranua Zoo is home to around 50 species of wild arctic animals and 200 animal species altogether. You will be able to dine in the cozy restaurant or by an open fire, visit all kinds of souvenir shops. Next, proceed for your Midnight Sun Picnic where you will taken to the top of the fabulous Santavaara Hill.
A trip from Rovaniemi city centre will take no more than 25 minutes by car.The path leads through small birch forests and takes about 30 minutes of walking until we reach the top of the hill above the tree line. The route is relatively easy but requires good basic physical fitness, the sun shines even at night - and thats the beauty of it.
After breakfast, enjoy your day in Rovaniemi where you will visit the Alaskan Husky Kennel. A guided tour of our modern kennel facilities and a fascinating view into the daily life of huskies and their mushers. The huskies love attention, and you will get ample chance to interact with them. Our guide will explain how it works and what to do, and then off we go for a walk along our private shore line or in our large enclosed running fence. There will be time to get to know the dogs and their unique characters, as well as a chance to see the workings of the kennel as we prepare for the winter. If you love dogs this is for you!
Later, enjoy the Magic of the Midnight Sun on Ounasjoki River. One your are picked up by your guide, you will be taken to the riverboat on the rivershore where you will cruise along the Ounasjoki River. This will give you an unforgettable experience to enjoy the Nightless nights in the Arctic, while sipping on a hot drink and hearing stories about life on the river by a local guide.
